I am hoping this is not a trend in large business! ID theft is on the rise, and it has been the common trend to give victims a month of paid credit monitoring. When you trust your financial data to someone, you have put a certain social contract in place. I give you this information, whatever it may be, mortgage, credit card, car loan, etc. And you job is then to keep it safe. And if something is to happen to that data, you do your best to recover it, and then to protect me your customer.
I strongly recommend anyone who has been effected by this to sign up for our credit monitoring until another option comes up for you.
As computer networks seem to be breached more and more often, I really hope that this trend to not offer credit monitoring to those effected is not a sign of the future!
